How are you doing? Haveing seen you traineo'ing for a long time.
Glovia
Congrats on the 40 gone! Keep it up!
I am now down to 105.5kg....from 122.5kg at the beginning of the year. I am determined to crack the 100kg mark this month...it is going to be such a big thing for me to get under 100kgs because I haven't been there in 10 years or so!!
Been really busy with work and life in general BUT good thing is, I am still focused and still log all my activity in my notebook so I have just been accountable to moi...BUT I am back to be accountable to everyone now~~didn't realise how much traineo has helped since I have been absent for a while but now I KNOW traineo has been an absolute godsend for me.
I missed you as well.
Looking forward to getting back on the path to my journey and start reaching some more goals.
Chat soon again everyone - have missed Traineo and all the lovely friends I have made here.
Don't want to discourage you. Actually, many beginning runners gain wt instead of losing at the beginning. Running makes your body demand more food, carbs in particular. That's why we have to incorporate wt training and eat properly. A lot of science..LOL. It took me a long time to trial/error to figure it out. I have gained 10lbs from running. They are slowly goind away now as my bf% goes down and lean muscle goes up.
You are doing good. Don't be disapointed.
Enjoy the family time.
BTW... I too am adding a little extra cardio, just a few minutes of semi-fasted cardio each morning. I'm about to go do that now, soon as I finish a glass of water and half serving PP, LOL!
Have fun with your visit, limit your pasta as you described and you'll be just fine!
I am super excited my Mum and Aunty arrive tomorrow night from WA I am in QLD so thats right across the country!
They will be with me for 9 days. Lots of catching up to do, we haven't seen one another in 2 years!! My daughter was 5 weeks old and my son 2 1/2 when we last saw them. Now my daughter is 2 and my son is 4 1/2....I am so excited I am hyper ventilating hehe...so I have been going crazy cleaning/organising and tidying the house and yard. Trying to sort out sleeping arrangments etc...
We have organised to go for hourly walks every morning early! So this will be good, at least my exercise commitments won't have to sit on the back burner for 9 days.
The biggest concern for me, is the whole pasta thing....lol. Being italian, they love their pasta (so do I!!) so are expecting me to pull my pasta machine out and make some from scratch!
I am happy to do it, gives you quite a workout kneading all that dough and cranking the handle of the machine...so I will just have a cup size serve like I always do and not make any rich sauces - just stick to tomato and veg based sauces and lots of salad. Good thing they are huge salad eaters!!
Keep up the good work!
Day 6/Wk 1 Galloway - Was a 1.6km walk/run..this took me 17:29 to do and according to my treadmill, burnt 100 Cals...I had it on a 6% incline for most of the walk...I also done 45 mins weights...felt good...but now today (Sunday) almost 24 hrs later, I have sore forearm and underarm muscles...today on Galloway day 7/Wk 1 was also an off day or if you preferred you could go for a walk.
Well I was at the shopping centre so I walked around there, I didn't stop and start, just a steady pace, not really working up a sweat but still moving. I am not counting it as 'exercise' though. I was more interested in getting the hell outta that madhouse....ppl everywhere, kids eveywhere and ppl ramming into you with their trolleys and then in the carpark, rude ppl everywhere blahhh....
Now, you can tell it is for beginner. It makes you feel easy to run and gradually increases the intensity. With the walk break, you can think of how you do it in last lap and also chat with your running parter. That makes running easy and more enjoyable. You are trained without awareness.
thanks for your reply Samantha!
Yeah, my arms legs have been enduring torture, but they'll survive (as will I)! hehe...Have a wonderful weekend!!
Cheers!
lill
I now return me to my previously scheduled owy PMS. I think I'll brew up a nice ginger root infusion or 5 today for that.
Bon Weekend, mate!
M.
We're having another dinner party here this weekend, so my report will likely be coming in soon.
: )
200 grams Arugula
1/3 - 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
100 grams grated Grana Padano cheese, (or Parmesan)
1-3 cloves garlic, (depending on how much you love it)
75 grams of shaved almonds, (toasted)
sea salt 'n peppa to taste
Use water to loosen if necessary in the blender.
I don't have a food processor, (yet), so this is needed for my process when I want to keep the olive oil controlled.
Great on pasta, rice, white beans, fingers...
Bon Appy,
M.
If you've got a loss, don't worry over the size, just celebrate and keep moving forward.
I on the other hand participated in some kind of informal eating marathon yesterday, heheh! All good stuff mind you: lentils, Allbran, apples, some, (OK, LOTS! ; ), of my amazing arugula/grana padano/roasted almond pesto on whole wheat, peanuts, almonds, Wasas, (of the highest fiber variety), yellow raisins, the list goes ON, but still WAY TOO DAMN MUCH and my scale is now cowering up at me with wide eyes like, "DAMN WOMAN, don't eat ME!"
Ahhhh, well, that damn time is approaching, and so---I eat, et voila.
Think I'll NOT take a day off the cardio today after all.
Have a great week, loserette! ; )
M.
A half kilo is still healthy weight loss :)
Current weight is now 106.9kg / 235.76 lbs
Starting BMI : 51 / Current BMI : 44
I ate something rather salty yesterday :-s so I suspect I may be retaining some water PLUS I have 'Aunt Flo' visiting this week :-s :-s so 'she' wouldn't be helping this situation much....well here's to a healthy week and a bigger loss next week
;-)
i was just looking through your charts and you have done so good from the start!!! Awesome!
Mine's gone OK as well, good workouts, mostly good on eating. I do my "official" weigh-in tomorrow, so we'll see. I don't expect a big loss, but as long as it's something, I'm good with it.
Now if I can just get through with taxes!
Good Luck -Keep on Losing!!! ;-)
You've done very well, we seem to have similar starting points... here's to chipping away at the next 74 pounds!
Great picture!
You look amazing. I am going strong thanks. My daughter is about to give birth to my first grandchild (Mia) she is having a C Section as we speak, so anytime now. I will be on a plane to ballina tonight, so my training for the next 5 days will all over the place, but nonetheless I will be training. I will let you know more when I get back. Hope you continue with your wonderful regime and let me know how your getting on.
Anyways, congrats on your continued success!
33.6kg to go until goal...
Next goal to reach is a loss of 15kg...
Been extremely run off my feet lately, with the two kiddies plus my work...but still finding the time to do my exercise. No more excuses. Last week, I was making excuses to ppl not to go out for coffee or lunch so I could focus on me and do my workouts..I felt selfish at the time, but in retrospect, now I do not - I am important and so is losing my weight. My wants have sat on the backburner long enough, my time to shine has arrived!
Am loving the exercising and the feeling afterwards - changing my lifestyle to a fitter one has been the best choice I have made in ages!
Good luck for this week. :)
I used to do my diet chart as well, but haven't in a while...I was following the Weight Watchers points plan (I have the old books from a few years ago - was using them as a guide and still refer to them) but I am just making conscious and healthy choices about food and controlling my portions and trying extremely hard not 'pick' the kids food lol....
I don't even know how many calories I consuming in a day, but it must be OK if I am losing weight...I eat 2-3 pieces of fruit a day and then vegetables, raw, steamed and mixed into most of my dinners, I am eating 2-3 slices of bread a day the whole grain pumpkin seed bread by 'Burgen' - thats YUMMY!
When I have rice, it is brown rice and my pasta is still white pasta which my next goal to achieve is to get rid of the white pasta and substitute it for wholegrain pasta or corn pasta...small steps I suppose to a lifetime of change.
